Pets on Quilts 2013

Pets on Quilts

My favourite event of the year is on again - the Pets on Quilts 2013 event hosted by Lilypad Quilting.

I had so much fun with this last year...the entries were absolutely gorgeous and some of them were positively hilarious. I think I spend about one week going through those entries and had many chuckles...

I have chosen this photo of our cat, Abby...love the way she pretends not to be there and the way she
is ignoring the camera as only a cat can.

Head over to the event of the year and spend some time looking through all those wonderful entries. The  virtual pet show will be open for new entries from now (August 11) until Saturday (August 17) and then voting will start on Sunday (August 18).  Voting will continue through the next Saturday, August 24. Did I mention prizes... for details please head over to Lilypad Quilting.

Let the fun begin...

  1. What do you mean that she's pretending she's not there? She is definitely not there, I can see her not looking at us out the corner of her eye!

    She has lovely colouring.

  3. Karin, she's gorgeous! You're right about "cat ignoring" they have it down to a science unless they want something :)

  5. Just adore calico kitties - yes, cats do have the right attitude - 'cat-atude' as it is known in our house. Lovely photo.

  9. I choose to think she is busy inspecting the quilting, which by the way is wonderful.

  10. Abby is one sweet calico. I have two purr-babies (my own terminology) that are calico, Luna and her daughter, Golden. Luna and Golden were rescued from another blogging friend of mine, whose life is all about rescue...she has a boarding kennel that raises money for her Winnie's Wish kitties. Perhaps you know of Chrystal Parker of Daily Dose of Dogs? If not, I highly recommend that blog and I am so pleased with my three angels (Percy, the non-calico but orange and white boy) from her rescue in Illinois.

  14. Oh yes, in the picture Abby has that look of cattish superiority that would be out of place in anything but, well, cats. She's great!

  17. Abby looks quite fitting on your quilt! Funny her not giving you eye contact pretending she's not there. These furry creatures are too funny!

  34. Gorgeous photo! Love the fact that you let your cat sleep on that masterpiece, after all quilts should be made to be used!?!

  35. She is a beauty. I find it interesting how many of us quilters are also cat lovers. I guess the two just have a natural affinity.
